The following is a tentative syllabus for the course.
This page will be updated irregularly.
On the other hand, the
weekly syllabus contained in the Homework
Assignments page will always be accurate.
We shall cover Chapters 1-3, jump to Chapter 7 to learn about matrices, do Chapter 4 and Chapter 6, finish Chapter 7 and do a part of Chapter 8 if time permites.
Week by week it looks like:
- Week 1: Ch 1 and Sec 2.1
- Week 2: Sec 2.2-2.3
- Week 3: Sec 2.4-2.6
- Week 4: Sec 2.7, 2.8, 7.1
- Week 5: Review, Sec 7.2, Exam 1
- Week 6: Sec 7.2, 7.3, 3.1, 3.2
- Week 7: Sec 3.3-3.6
- Week 8: Sec 3.6, 3.7
- Week 9: Sec 3.7-4.1
- Week 10: Review, Sec 4.2, Exam 2
- Week 11: Sec 4.3, Sec 6.1, Sec 6.2
- Week 12: Sec 6.3-6.5
- Week 13: Sec 6.6, Review, Sec 7.3
- Week 14: Exam 3
- Week 15: Sec 7.4-8.2
- Week 16: Sec 8.3
